Marcia is one of the finest artists in the United States; Joanne and I had the privilege of visiting her home in Florida. Two of her paintings now grace our home. The story of her work is fascinating and must be considered by anyone who has an interest in indigenous history. As a former member of the Board of Trustees for the National Museum of the American Indian I endorse her work and encourage those who have respect for our oral traditions (which are reflected in her masterpieces) to give all due consideration to the narrative reflected in these portraits.
Marcia K Moore
Traditional/Digital Artist, Concept Artist, Researcher
As an artist, I am compelled to reconstruct history using my traditional art tools and modern software technology. It is my hope that artistically reconstructing (repatriating) the past will help us understand our lost North American history.
Utilizing my art skills and tools has helped assist independent researchers around the world with forensic reconstruction, giving the ancients a face to aid in the understanding of physical anomalies, especially the ancient tradition of head-binding. Through this body of work,
I am reconstructing the past, revealing personalities in the flesh that may guide us to a greater understanding of our lost history.
